Pietsch Air Shows

The World’s Smallest “Carrier Landing”

Be reminded of your childhood love for Jelly Belly’s when you come to the Chico Air Show and see Kent Pietsch fly his bright yellow Jelly Belly aircraft!  Not only will you be impressed with the vibrant colors and expert flying technique, but you are in for a “sweet treat” when you see Kent Pietsch land his Jelly Belly plane on a moving truck!

Kent Pietsch began his flying career at a young age, flying solo for the first time at 16. In 1974, Pietsch started flying commercial charters while working with his father Al Pietsch at Pietsch Aircraft.  Pietsch started flying at air shows with his father and brother (Gary) and continues his passion for air shows by performing his wide variety of acts in several each year. This skilled pilot has logged over 25,000 hours flying and has added a runway to the top of his RV where he lands his Jelly Belly plane – while the RV is moving! This is one act you need to see because while Pietsch is performing this stunt he cannot see the RV, making it very difficult to land, especially on a moving carrier!
