Merten Ranch
About Us
Tina and I moved to Washington about 4 years ago after living in the same house in Oregon for 23 years.  We have always owned horses and have done many things with them.  The three we have on the ranch today are all Police Trained and were used for law enforcement when we were deputies for the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office.  One of our horses, Zan is a World Champion at Cowboy Mounted Shooting.  Zan and Dale have one dozens of local, state and regional titles throughout the west.

Buster is Dale's roping horse.  Several years ago I wanted to learn how to Team Rope so I bought an old horse that knew a heck of a lot more than I did about Team Roping, so all I had to do is figure out how to throw a loop.  Buster is now 32 years old but when you see him you won't believe it!

While living in Oregon, we purchased our hay from a neighbor that grew hay for his only source of income.  John always had the best hay anywhere and always had a waiting list.  We didn't realize how fortunate we were until we moved north and learned how bad "local" hay really was.  After tremendous frustration over the lack of any resemblance of quality, Tina and I decided to just do it ourselves.  Our ranch is large enough to produce all the hay we could possibly need, plus we have plenty left for you!

We grow hay because we want our own animals to have the very best.  Our horses are very special to us, Zan once saved my life.  If you care about yours too, you can feed the same hay we do.
