| Each of the feasts of the Old Testament law, and all of the celebrations of the gentiles' fruitful seasons find their fulfillment in the Holy City. Even the Passover is finally complete, for all of God's redeemed live in the Promised Land with the Lamb of the Feast and the Father himself. The wanderings of earths' wilderness are over, and the Eighth Day of the Feast of Tabernacles, the Great Day of the Feast, continues for eternity as Living Water flows from the throne of God. The Tree of Life grows along the banks of the River, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. There is no more sorrow, or crying, or pain. All of the trials of this present day are forgotten as not worthy to be compared with the glory of living in the presence of Love face to face. The fasts of the 4th, 5th, 7th, and 10th months are finally feasts forever. No more will Jerusalem be tested and tried, the gates are now open to this city of eternal wonder. Here is the Heavenly Zion, the City whose maker and builder is God. Even now the City is being prepared for the Lord's temple. God's people are his eternal dwelling- the Living Stones he is preparing. The Lamb is the Cornerstone, and we are all one with the Father and the Son. So lovely and majestic is the Holy Spirit's description of the Bride, the Lamb's Wife, that we can easily set our minds on the things above- even if we can't quite imagine what it will be to live in such a Promised Land. Here is fullness of joy, and peace like a River. |
